Hello again!

I thought I'd check in and give an update about why I haven't been posting as often as I used to.

So, where have I been?

Other than the occasional trips out of state (I went to New Orleans earlier this year!) and college classes (ugh...) I've just been at home killing time by playing Splatoon 3 and The Sims 4.

Did I quit drawing?

HELL NO! I'm never going to quit making art. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to drawing; I've only slowed down because it began to feel more like a chore and less like a hobby. I'd rather play video games and relax than have to worry about making the next Mona Lisa just so 25 people can see it on Newgrounds. Know what I'm sayin'?

What else?

I started playing the drums at the beginning of this year! I'm still somewhat new, but I'm getting the hang of it. I've learned how to read drum notation (I've also learned some other technical stuff that I won't bore you with) and it's been an exciting journey so far! If I get good enough to the point where I feel like I want to post my progress here, I definitely will. Also, if you're curious, I'm using an electric drumset. More specifically the TD-17KVX by Roland.

How's it going? It's been a while since I've posted on here so I thought I would update you guys on where I've been.

MegaCon Orlando

I recently went to a convention in Orlando called MegaCon, there were tons of cool cosplayers and artists! Steve Blum was there but I sadly didn't get a photo with him. However, I did walk away with some cool things, like a Death's Head Moth from Darwin and Wallace! Getting a booth at a convention like MegaCon would be a dream, I should probably work on putting up a digital shop sometime...Would any of you guys be interested?

So, about the art. (Plus modelmaking ramblings)

I haven't been motivated to make much art recently, thinking about drawing is very exciting but actually doing it is another story. Like I said in a forum post, I only draw for a couple of minutes a day now, but I'm still making progress on art (albeit very slowly.) I've been branching out to see what I can do to motivate myself but I still feel as if I'm in a rut, one of these things I've been getting into is modelmaking. I just finished my first Gundam, and I hope to build more! Adam Savage has some amazing videos about modelmaking/kitbashing on Tested, I highly suggest you check them out. Even if you arent into modelmaking, they're still great videos to watch. But anyways, that's why I haven't been posting much, because I'm lazy.

Thought I would share this MASSIVE reference sheet I’ve been using for my next piece, so far it’s been taking me around 14 hours. Usually I don’t save the images and put them in a board like this when I grab references for my art, but I decided to do it this time to see how much reference I actually use. I've been doing art pretty much my whole life, being inspired by the Floridian environment around me which includes roadkill, crackheads, and the smell of garbage ;).
